Butterfly Designs, Inc. is located in Port Townsend, Washington. Everything pertaining to our products—from the design phase through shipping—is done in-house except the laser cutting. The metal parts are cut by a CO2 laser in Redmond, Washington, so they are completely made in the U.S.A.
Once we receive the parts from the company that cuts them for us, they are individually heated with an oxyacetylene torch to give them the rainbow-like coloration. Since each piece is treated individually, and even pieces of the same design don’t react to the heat in quite the same way, no two are exactly alike.
Included with each candleholder are a glass cup and a white, unscented votive candle. Each nightlight includes a 4-watt bulb. To give you an idea of the sizes of the pieces, the glass cups are 2 3/4 inches high and the cream-colored plastic part of the nightlight base is 2 inches high.
Fingerprints can be removed from the pieces by wiping gently with a soft cloth dipped lightly in rubbing alcohol.
